DONATIONS

The Angus Buchanan VC Recreation Ground Charitable Trust was set up in 1923 to provide a Recreation Ground for the people of Coleford and its environs. The money to purchase the grounds was provided by donations from the people of Coleford, the running of whist drives and fundraising events.

This remains the situation today. The Trust is run by volunteers from the Coleford area and is reliant on the people that use the facility to pay for its upkeep. The Trust does not receive any revenue support from the Town, District or County Councils.

The volunteers are not paid and provide their time free of charge. They often supply gratis materials and equipment that are needed to keep the Grounds open to the general public.

In order to keep the Grounds and its wildflower meadows and woodland open, the Committee of Management has to expend between £15,000 and £20,000 per annum. That is the sum of money that needs to be raised each year to keep the facility open.

IF YOU ARE A USER OF THE FACILITIES AND WOULD LIKE TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE MAINTENANCE AND IMPROVEMENTS AT THE RECREATION GROUND, PLEASE GIVE A DONATION BY:-
